Is Connected a dating app or a friendship app?
Both — and more. You choose what you're here for: dating, friendship, or simply experiences and events. Connected introduces you to people who match that, so nobody is guessing what anybody wants.
How is this different from every other social app?
Two ways. First, you get three deliberate choices — Yes, Maybe, No — on people who share your interests and intent, rather than an endless swipe pile. Second, trust is built in: friends vouch for you, and reporting and blocking are one tap away everywhere.
What is social vouching?
The people who know you best can vouch that you're real and genuine, and their vouch appears on your profile. It's a warm introduction at scale — real human accountability instead of anonymous risk.
Is it free?
The whole app is free — discovery, matches, messaging and events are unlimited on the free plan and stay that way. Plus and Premium are optional and buy you speed, not access: seeing who liked you, undoing a pass, travel mode. You can subscribe on the web today; while the mobile apps are in testing, subscriptions are web-only.
How do you keep me safe?
Reporting and blocking are one tap away and blocking takes effect immediately. Location sharing is off by default. Photo uploads are stripped of the GPS data cameras attach to them. And deleting your account really deletes it, photos included. We're a small team and we review reports ourselves — we'd rather tell you that than promise a response time we can't yet guarantee.
What's the 72-hour thing on my matches?
When you match, a 72-hour countdown starts. It's there because the failure mode of every other app is a list of matches nobody ever messaged. Say something, or mark that you're planning to meet, and the clock stops. To be straight with you about what the timer does today: it's a prompt and a reminder, not a shutter — we don't slam the conversation closed the moment it runs out.
Does Connected use AI to write my messages?
No. There was one optional feature that drafted a suggested opener, and we removed it on 17 September 2026. The person on the other end had no way of knowing a machine had written it, and on an app built around knowing who you're talking to, that was the wrong trade. Nothing you read in Connected was written by a model. We do use an automated check on uploaded photos, which is a safety filter, not a writer.
